Stories of Home

In our daily flurry of commutes, Zooms, emails, overwhelming news headlines and more, we can lose track of the moments that drive us to do what we do. But then we get messages like the one I recently received from Jihiel, and it becomes crystal clear all over again. I’m proud and grateful to share her story with you today.  It’s why all of us at Housing Navigator MA are passionate about our mission and doing what it takes every day.

“Boston is a hard place to find housing.”

Jihiel was referred to Navigator by a therapist and a liaison at her high school. Boston born and raised, she graduated from Boston Day and Evening Academy. In her early 20s, she was couch hopping and without a home when she started applying for lotteries using Housing Navigator MA and our bi-weekly email listings.

Now, she and two cats she rescued–Mango and Blueberry–are living in Allston in a studio of her own from a listing she found on Housing Navigator.
